{"id":1958,"date":"2020-02-06T12:07:39","date_gmt":"2020-02-06T12:07:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ukogl.org.uk\/?p=1958"},"modified":"2020-02-06T12:07:41","modified_gmt":"2020-02-06T12:07:41","slug":"ukogl-interactive-map-developments","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ukogl.org.uk\/blog\/ukogl-interactive-map-developments\/","title":{"rendered":"UKOGL Interactive Map Developments:"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Well Layer Improvements and Two-Way Time Data Generation<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UKOGL have improved the appearance and functionality of the\nWell Layer displayed on the interactive map, the expanded selection options include\nthe ability to filter on the well category, wells that reach a certain depth\nand wells that penetrate certain formations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, a new functionality has been embedded as an\noption to generate estimated Two-Way Times (TWT) for wells that do not\ncurrently have TWT data available through the site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The well category display, search, filter and selection options\non the map can now be controlled via a single user selected \u2018drop-down\u2019 menu option,\nwhich combines both the old \u201cWell\u201d layer and the old \u201cAdditional Selected\nBoreholes\u201d layer in to one layer that now removes the need to run the same query\ntwice across the two data sets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1052\" height=\"935\" src=\"https:\/\/ukogl.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/TWT.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1959\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>All wells with TWT data can now be filtered on the display\nvia the menu to improve access to TWT information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The UKOGL interactive web map now supports \u2018on the fly\u2019\ngeneration of TWT data for wells that do not have TWT data currently available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Using the mouse arrow select a well without TWT data then select the \u2018DEPTHS\u2019 \u2013 \u2018Well Tops \u2013 View\u2019 option to launch the well information page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"845\" height=\"689\" src=\"https:\/\/ukogl.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/TWT-initial.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1960\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>By selecting the \u2018Two-Way Times\u2019 option on the page a list\nof \u2019near-by wells\u2019 is generated that already have TWT data available. A buffer\nrange can be used to limit the search radius of the donor wells available to\nthe user.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1014\" height=\"796\" src=\"https:\/\/ukogl.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/TWT-selection.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1961\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The TWT data is generated by extrapolating the TWT depths from\nthe user selected well to the corresponding depth of the well that is currently\nwithout TWT data. Data is generated \u2018on the fly\u2019 each time a donor well is\nselected by the user.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1039\" height=\"850\" src=\"https:\/\/ukogl.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/TWT-selection-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1962\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The newly generated TWT data can be downloaded from the UKOGL site as a spreadsheet document.
