{"id":1736,"date":"2018-01-09T17:39:48","date_gmt":"2018-01-09T17:39:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ukogl.org.uk\/?p=1736"},"modified":"2018-01-11T10:19:04","modified_gmt":"2018-01-11T10:19:04","slug":"2016-oga-uk-onshore-seismic-data-download","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ukogl.org.uk\/blog\/2016-oga-uk-onshore-seismic-data-download\/","title":{"rendered":"2016 OGA UK Onshore Seismic Data Download"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 2016 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ogauthority.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">OGA<\/a> UK onshore seismic data release packages are now available to be downloaded via the <a href=\"https:\/\/ukogl.org.uk\/map\/?e=-2393422,6206631,1483464,8454491&amp;l=0&amp;b=3&amp;sm=true\">UKOGL Interactive Map website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The UKOGL Interactive map provides immediate access to the onshore reprocessed data packages and the post stack 2D and 3D SEG-Y data can be viewed before downloading using <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lynxinfo.co.uk\/software-iseisview.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong><em>iSeis<\/em>view <\/strong><\/a>&#8211; An online seismic data viewer developed by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lynxinfo.co.uk\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Lynx Information Systems Ltd<\/a>. that enables the user to interactively view the Post Stack SEG-Y in real-time.<\/p>\n<p>Only the reprocessed 2D post stack SEG-Y and 3D data that forms part of the 2016 OGA data can be viewed in <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lynxinfo.co.uk\/software-iseisview.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>iSeis<\/em>view<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The seismic viewer developed by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lynxinfo.co.uk\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Lynx<\/a> enables SEG-Y data in 2D or 3D inline and crossline profiles to be displayed interactively in a web browser and allows the user to select display styles, zoom levels, horizontal and vertical scales and trace amplitudes of the SEG-Y data.<\/p>\n<p>Access to the 2016 OGA onshore data packages via the UKOGL Interactive map does not require a login.<\/p>\n<p>The freely available government funded reprocessed onshore data is comprised of UK onshore reprocessed 2D post stack SEG-Y data, SEG-Y gathers, navigation data and supporting processing reports located over three onshore areas of the UK:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Isle of Skye<\/li>\n<li>Solway Firth<\/li>\n<li>South Coast of England.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The original processed 3D Wytch-Farm-98 post stack SEG-Y data is also available as part of the South Coast data set with all inlines and crosslines available to be assessed interactively using <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lynxinfo.co.uk\/software-iseisview.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong><em>iSeis<\/em>view<\/strong><\/a> before downloading.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>How to Access the Data<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Access to the OGA Onshore data packages is via the contents sidebar on the UKOGL Interactive Map as indicated below.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1743\" style=\"width: 1228px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ukogl.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/View.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1743\" class=\"wp-image-1743 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ukogl.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/View.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1218\" height=\"859\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1743\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">2016 OGA Reprocessed 2D and 3D Seismic displayed via the &#8216;tick&#8217; box<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The reprocessed 2D Post Stack SEG-Y data and 3D Post-Stack SEG-Y survey can be viewed immediately by selecting the \u201cLive Seismic Viewer\u201d option to assess the data using <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lynxinfo.co.uk\/software-iseisview.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong><em>iSeis<\/em>View<\/strong><\/a> or, by selecting the \u201cView and Download Files\u201d option a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lynxinfo.co.uk\/vdr.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Virtual Data Room<\/a> developed by Lynx will be launched for each area to easily access all onshore files that have been made available as part of the 2016 Government-Funded UK onshore reprocessed data packages.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1742\" style=\"width: 1228px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ukogl.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/selection.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1742\" class=\"wp-image-1742 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ukogl.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/selection.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1218\" height=\"859\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1742\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Following line selection &#8211; Option to interactively view the available SEG-Y data or access and download the data<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The \u201cView and Download Files\u201d option launches the Lynx <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lynxinfo.co.uk\/vdr.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Virtual Data Room<\/a>: 2D lines can be selected and the SEG-Y data viewed interactively via <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lynxinfo.co.uk\/software-iseisview.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong><em>iSeis<\/em>view<\/strong><\/a> either by selecting each line from the \u201cMap\u201d or via a \u201c2D Seismic Line List\u201d view.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1737\" style=\"width: 1668px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ukogl.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/2DLine.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1737\" class=\"wp-image-1737 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ukogl.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/2DLine.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1658\" height=\"918\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1737\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Virtual Data Room &#8211; The selection of a 2D line enables the SEG-Y data to viewed interactively using iSeisview<\/p><\/div>\n<p>To view inlines or crosslines from the available 3D survey in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lynxinfo.co.uk\/software-iseisview.html\"><strong><em>iSeis<\/em>view<\/strong><\/a>, &#8216;hover&#8217; boxes.
