With over 87,000 km of 2D seismic data and more than 2,900 sq km of 3D seismic survey data acquired from the onshore exploration of oil, gas and coal in the UK, the Library strives to locate all available data items pertaining to each seismic profile, with the aim of providing a fully reconciled archive of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Original pre-stack field records de-multiplexed to SEGY<\/li>\n<li>Supporting scanned observers reports and associated aquisition documents<\/li>\n<li>Line location data in UKOOA format<\/li>\n<li>Processed post-stack and migrated data in SEGY<\/li>\n<li>Hardcopy and scanned seismic sections<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>British Geological Survey and Mining Remediation Authority &#8211; 2D &amp; 3D Seismic Data<\/h3>\n<p>UKOGL in collaboration with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bgs.ac.uk\/\">British Geological Survey<\/a> (BGS) provides access to onshore seismic surveys held by the BGS. These include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pre- and post-stack data for surveys shot for the BGS and its predecessors<\/li>\n<li>Post-stack data for Mining Remediation Authority (formerly the Coal Authority) surveys acquired by the National Coal Board (NCB), its successor, the British Coal Corporation (BCC) and private coal companies<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Regional Profiles<\/h3>\n<p>UKOGL has compiled a series of reprocessed composite profiles, providing a new regional insight across the UK. The shapefiles of the exploration coverage that are available for download below have been resampled from the archive to provide a general 2D line or 3D survey location:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2D &#8211; shapefile coverage available <a href=\"https:\/\/ukogl.org.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/2D_seimic_2023_06_01.zip\">here<\/a><\/li>\n<li>3D &#8211; shapefile coverage available <a href=\"https:\/\/ukogl.org.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/3D_seismic_2019_01_02.zip\">here<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Well Data<\/h2>\n<p>UKOGL provides basic metadata, well tops, composite log headers, scanned paper well logs and reports, time-depth tables and where appropriate directional information for oil and gas, coal authority and other key deep wells.<\/p>\n<h3>LAS Data<\/h3>\n<p>The Library has a growing database of digital log data in LAS format<\/p>\n<h3>Bottom Hole Temperatures<\/h3>\n<p>UKOGL has generated a listing of temperatures recorded by logging runs and testing from well data for UK Onshore wells.
